Rolleri Vineyard Story
Rolleri family is rich in California history.
Rolleri Family & Ranch Est. Circa 1800 in Angels Camp, California at one time covered about ¾ of Calaveras County and parts of Tuolumne and Western Alpine Counties.
The family raised cattle and farmed to support the Calaveras Hotel in Down Town Angels Camp owned and operated by Olivietta, “Grandma” Rolleri and her family.
Grandma Rolleri set the families high standards that the family holds to today. Thru the 1880s and into the early 1900s “Grandma” served bed and board with lots of love and friendship, and offered her homemade wines to her hotel guests. It seems fitting that her great grandsons should be involved in the fine wines of Calaveras County.
Richard C. Rolleri helped establish many of the older vineyards in Calaveras Co. In 1995 started his own vineyard of quality red wine grapes .now managed by his two sons. It’s located on the Rolleri Ranch in Angels Camp, California in the Sierra Foothill of Calaveras Co. On virgin ground a small vineyard set in the full southern sun, gentle sierra winds, with pristine mountain water. A well maintained vineyard yielding a quality red wine grape. Wines produced from this vineyard have earned numerous Gold and Silver metals. Listed here are some of the competition in-witch awards were received; California State Fair, San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, Sierra Foothills Wine Show, and West Cost Competition
